Vitamin b5 pantothenic acid (Pantothenic acid) is an essential component of coenzyme A (CoA) and acyl carrier protein (ACP). In both CoA and ACP, a derivative of pantothenic acid, 4'-phosphopantetheine, forms the active portion of the compound.
