Sema is a synthetic, long-acting analog of glucagon-like peptide-1, used to treat diabetes.
It is a hormone produced in the gut that activates receptors in the gut, liver, and pancreas to stimulate i n s u l i n release, and restore i n sulin sensitivity (for review, see Knudsen and Lau, 2019).
Sema can slow your digestion, and it may take longer for your body to absorb any medicines you take by mouth.
Tell your doctor about all your other medicines, especially i n s u l in or other diabetes medicine, such as dulaglutide, exenatide, liraglutide, Byetta, Trulicity, Victoza, and others.
Other drugs may affect sema, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products. Tell your doctor about all other medicines you use.
