It is also a parasympathomimetic acetylcholine precursor which may have potential for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease and is used as a nootropic dietary supplement to enhance memory and cognition. L- Alpha Glycerophosphatidyl Choline (GPC) is the simplest phospholipid, and an intermediate metabolite in the choline pathway. In addition, GPC serves as an organic osmolyte in the kidney and may play a role in sperm motility. In diet, it is normally presented in low amounts. |
